Celebrating his 40th birthday this year, the multi-talented Malan Breton has added fur designer to his already distinguished resumé. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Breton’s early years were filled with acting and modeling jobs. Always ambitious and full of curiosity, at the age of eleven, Breton began teaching himself the art of fashion design. By his 23rd birthday, Breton had moved to New York to walk the runway for the 7th on Sixth fashion shows.
Work as a stylist for A list clients at Barney’s followed. Simultaneously, Breton developed his performing arts background by appearing on the Broadway stage, dancing with Paula Abdul, working as a fashion photographer, as well as becoming the promo voice for ABC Sports and ESPN Extreme Sports. With the knowledge gained from helping celebrities and socialites dress for glam galas and red carpet events, Breton launched a line of women’s wear fashion under the Malan Breton Collection label. Soon after, he started the Malan Breton Leathergoods and Malan Breton Bridal lines.
In 2008, Breton began designing an accessory line, Malan Breton Accessories; and in 2010, he again expanded his repertoire by adding a fashion line for men under the Malan Breton Homme label. Never one to rest, Breton continually adds new experiences to his life story. Breton has appeared on and helped with numerous television shows including, “Minute to Win It,” MTV’s Music Award Show, The Today Show, appeared as himself in a six part series on Bravo TV titled “The Milan Show,” co-hosted live from the Red Carpet at the Golden Globes and at the 82nd Academy Awards, as well as numerous other news, reality and educational shows. He has authored a fashion column for OK! Magazine titled “Milan’s Musings;” has 500K plus Twitter followers; serves as a fashion correspondent for Sulia.com; he acts in movie roles, he sings both as a recorded and in concert artist, and he provides philanthropic support for numerous charities.
Today, Breton is known globally for his signature silk gowns, stylish men’s blazers, and comfy pajama pants. Soon the world will be abuzz for his gorgeous furs too!
