Known for his classic American sportswear for women, Kors launched his first collection in 1981 with a handful of high-end retailers showcasing his line. He later added a menswear collection in 2002 and more moderately priced garment lines in 2004.
His fashion empire now includes ready-to-wear apparel, handbags, shoes, footwear, jeans and furs. In addition, Kors has appeared as a judge on the Emmy nominated television program, Project Runway, involves himself with numerous philanthropic organizations, and has won accolades for his over 30 years as a designer.
