It’s that time of the year again – Fall and Winter philanthropic fashion shows are in full swing. We love seeing models walk the runway in York Furrier garments, and if it’s for a great cause, even better! Here are some highlights from a few recent Chicagoland events, with oh so many more coming soon. Be sure to check out our events page to stay up-to-date on fashionable happenings throughout Chicago, the North Shore, in the Barrington area, and around the Western Suburbs!
St. Jude Fashion Show: The November 2nd event in Rosemont was themed Dream a Little Dream … and guests did just that! The 20th annual luncheon and fashion show was held in the ballroom at the Rosemont Convention Center, and it completely sold out with over 1600 attendees! NBC 5 Anchor, Allison Rosati, acted as master of ceremonies. And the runway show featured a guest appearance by Project Runway favorite Peach Carr. Peach wore a Zuki designed color block sheared beaver walking coat accessorized with a York Signature Style natural ranch mink “puff” – it’s a purse and a muff. While the ZZAZZ model, Lisa, took to the St. Jude runway in a York Signature Style Natural Silver Fox trimmed Sheared Beaver Flounce with matching fox Headband and carried a Badgley Mischka designed snakeskin geometric clutch in bold red. Raffle prices included a wine-and-dine trip to Napa, a fitness membership, concert tickets, a fur trimmed cashmere cape from York Furrier, and so much more. Barrington in Milan: A little slice of Italy in Illinois? Yes please! The Barrington Junior Women’s Club presented a Milan fashion week from November 1 – 7 with their annual luncheon fashion show on November 8th, and the event was as chic as ever. Guests sipped cocktails, bid on silent auction items, enjoyed the runway show, and got the opportunity to shop for garments afterward. We donated a York Furrier Signature Style natural silver feathered fox jacket, reversible to a Loro Piana cashmere sweater with a matching knit fur cap. For the silent auction, York Furrier provided a quilted lamb leather jacket. And for the event swag bag, we included our signature treat, York Peppermint Patties, along with a gift certificate for savings towards a fur or shearling garment. The two models shown below are wearing a Michael Kors designed tie-dyed Toscana shearling lamb reversible vest and walking coat. Kudos to this year’s BJWC co-chairs Hyla Guerriere, Rachel Kuna and Erin Schectman on a spectacular day and successful fund raiser! (Photos courtesy of Living60010)
St. Francis High School Fashion Show: Headed to Bobak’s Signature Events in Woodridge to present a small sampling of the York Collection at the high school’s annual fashion show on Sunday, November 23rd. Sophomore Stephanie Cruz modeled the Michael Kors tie-dyed Toscana Shearling Lamb Reversible Walking Coat with ZZAZZ model David while ZZAZZ Productions models and twins, Darci and Disa, stepped onto the runway in Malan Breton designed minks – a teal velour sheared mink coat with chinchilla trim and a coyote trimmed merlot mink walking coat.
Oak Brook Infant Welfare Fashion Show: On December 2nd guests gathered at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace for a fabulous afternoon of fashion and fund raising to support the Oak Brook Infant Welfare group. On the left, Tracey Tarantino and Abby Zupancic from ZZAZZ Productions strike a pose! On the right, models walk the runway in York Signature Style Natural Silver Fox Trimmed Onyx Sheared Beaver Flounce Coats with a Matching Trooper Hat and a Headband. The highlight of the York Furrier segment of the show was OBIW member, Suzanne Gorden’s husband, Harvey, strolling the runway in a shearling lamb vest accessorized with a chenille scarf. Harvey escorted ZZAZZ model, Michelle and helped her reverse the Michael Kors shearling lamb vest she was modeling. “Thanks!” Harvey.
European Bridal Expo: On November 16, the Marriott O’Hare Hotel hosted the 12th annual European Bridal Expo. We provided fur wraps, capes, and accessories from the York Furrier 83rd Anniversary Collection to be paired with bridal dresses and evening gowns from Laurel Bridal, which is located in Chicago. The model on the left is wearing a Zuki designed white mink wrap with a cross through closure. On the right is a Zandra Rhodes designed natural blue iris mink bolero with sequins and beaded detail.
