York Furrier: In the News and on the Runway

One of our favorite parts about being on the Chicagoland fashion scene is the opportunity to to give (and receive!) support from others in the biz. York Furrier has been featured in publications throughout the Chicago Metro area for years, and our fabulous furs have walked down countless runways at both fashion and philanthropic events. We thought it would be fun to highlight a few of our recent mentions and moments!

In a recent shoot for Northwest Quarterly Magazine’s Northwest Woman section, the publication featured our Italian-designed leather shirt style stroller with stretch knit trim. We topped it off with some glam from local designer Peach Carr - her new cartoon inspired clutches are pure fun!

On May 8, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago hosted its annual The Walk Fashion Show, which showcases student collections and raises money for scholarships. Over the past few months, SAIC student Jamie Lange has worked with York Furrier to create her award winning fur design . . . a truly one-of-a-kind coat for the spectacular show. She wowed attendees with the final product, pictured below. Read more about her process on our blog.

On May 12 we kicked off the spring/summer season with the Amity School Children's Aid's Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon Fundraiser. Oakpark.com covered the event and took some fabulous pics. The York Furrier segment featured gorgeous furs, stylish fine outerwear and an array of awesome accessories - hats, scarves and handbags on organizational models from the Oak Park and River Forest communities. SAIC student Jamie Lange sent her gorgeous fur garment down this runway as well.

The Medinah Shriners Fashion Show is always a favorite, and this year's May 9 event was no exception! Cocktails and sit down luncheon were followed by the runway show and the grand raffle drawing (York Furrier contributed a feathered fox sweater jacket that reverses to cashmere!). The York Furrier runway segment included spring leathers, light cashmere coats and gorgeous furs. A big "Thank You!" to Pat Monaco for including York Furrier at the event.
