New York Fashion Week Spring 2016—themed 7th on 6th—was a whirlwind of designers, models, fashion namesakes crowding city streets, and fashionistas jockeying for their place in the coveted front row in the bustling white tents. Tie-dye, off-the-shoulder, military separates, robes, romance, plaid, pantsuits, and accent fur (oh the fur!) are just a few of the Must Have trends on view at THE September event.
York Furrier favorite, designer Zac Posen, had a big week debuting collections for Brooks Brothers and his line ZAC Zac Posen. In three words, Posen’s look is pretty, girly and flirty. He featured soft hues with bold cutouts and interesting lines. The playful collection featured both statement dresses and interesting separates. (photo: hollywoodlife.com)
Fur made its way down the runway most notably in trimmed shoes and vests. Furry stilettos walked the runway in David Ferreira’s show. While Jason Wu featured a fitted white sleeveless jacket with sheared fur on the front, and Marc Jacobs required “fur coats over lingerie” for his after-party at the “infamous” Chelsea nightclub Tunnel.
Designer Aurora James debuted an exotic looking shoe collection—Brother Vellies—named after veldskoen, which are South African desert boots. The shoes featured bright colors with fur-trimmed sandals and gladiator boots. (photo: New York Times)
Givenchy’s show Friday night was dripping with luxury and detail—each piece studded, embroidered, laced, or lined with fur.
