Fashionable FUNd Raising at Charity Events in Downtown Chicago
When the weather cools down, there’s nothing quite like a night out in the city. It’s the perfect excuse (not that you need one!) to get all dolled up and wear a gorgeous fur coat. We’ve compiled a list of upcoming events (each fabulous and philanthropic!) in the downtown Chicago area; plus, we paired a few of our favorite glam fur and fine outerwear looks to match!
Oct 18: Nothing like a little Southern food to warm you up on a chilly Fall night. The Swedish Covenant Hospital Foundation will host its annual benefit at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in downtown Chicago. This year’s theme – On the Bayou!
Oct. 25: Looking to show a little patriotic spirit? The USO of Illinois hosts its Star-Spangled Salute Gala in the Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier. Chicago Bears cornerback and 2013 NFL Man of the Year, Charles “Peanut” Tillman, will receive the USO Angel Harvey Heart of a Patriot Award.
Dec 3: The Union League Club of Chicago will host its annual luncheon fashion show gala at the Club, complete with door prizes and delicious treats. Last year’s runway featured elegant attire from Neiman Marcus along with a segment of furs, shearlings, and cashmeres . . . from York Furrier of course!
Dec 5: Have a ball this holiday season at the Catholic Charities 25th Anniversary Spirit of St. Nicholas Ball. The black-tie event, which will be held at the Hilton Chicago, is being chaired by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walsh of Lake Forest. Get ready for elegant dining and dancing to benefit nearly 300,000 children throughout Cook and Lake Counties!
