Norman Ambrose

From his youth in San Francisco, Norman Ambrose observed and absorbed all things fashion and style – both Bohemian looks and and sophisticated glam dressing. Memories of Lady Like hats, white gloves and proper attire converge with thoughts of bold colors, intricate patterns and flowing fabrics to inspire his design aesthetic. Add stories of his beloved Hungarian Grandmother who dealt with the hardships of World War II, and a close relationship with a loving Mother who was an avid gardener, provides further creative muse for his collections.

Upon graduation from the Academy of Art University School of Fashion, Ambrose moved to New York City in 2003 to work in the garment district. In 2007, at the age of 26, Ambrose founded his namesake fashion label meant to be worn and adored by women of all ages and lifestyles. As they continue to be today, these early collections were showcased in top ateliers and boutiques, alongside luxury labels Chanel and Oscar de la Renta. Quickly, Ambrose became a recognized label; receiving numerous accolades and awards for his feminine fashion sense.

Today, the Ambrose couture brand incorporates gorgeous gowns, ladies who lunch looks, and luxe furs that are exquisitely handcrafted in the U.S.A. From his seasonal theme creation, color palette selection, to the creation of silhouettes and choosing embellishments, Ambrose personally chooses pelts and fabrics, creates the intricate patterns and design details, oversees the meticulous construction of each piece, and often times, adds his own finishing stitches to his dresses and furs.
